Listen up: birthday celebrations shouldn't be limited in age. Why not take advantage of the once-a-year chance each of us gets to get together with friends, enjoy a fun activity, and receive a little extra love and attention? It's quite acceptable to want to stay home, eat your favourite meals, and watch a movie on certain years. On the other hand, we say go ahead and celebrate this year in a way that excites you, rather than sticking to the tried-and-true "dinner at a nice restaurant" routine.
Backyard Cooking
Let's start simple: a BBQ is always a good choice. Take advantage of the nice weather and invite your friends over for a BBQ if you own an outdoor space or if you have a buddy who does.
Skating on rollers
Bring on the sentimentalism. Invite everyone to a skate party if you and your buddies are up for something a little more energetic. Look up the possibilities available at the roller skating rink in your area. For a private party, you might be able to book the entire space, or you could merely be able to secure a special seating area for your group during open skate sessions.
Tour of a Winery or Brewery
Take your pals on a tour of a brewery, winery or distillery to celebrate your birthday in a more interesting way than just going out to a pub. These trips, which include a comprehensive tour of the facility and plenty of samples along the way, can be rather inexpensive depending on where you reside.
Brunch in Pyjamas
You may be too old to perform practical jokes on the first people to go to sleep, gossip all night, and have a birthday sleepover with five or ten of your best pals, but you may try to recreate the atmosphere of that early-morning brunch.
